...don't you feel the danger ... at all!?! - FPS; 03/22/2012

Indulged myself this evening with a few all time electronic favorites. I was able to include a couple new records for your enjoyment. Times come for a break though ... the last regularly scheduled Future Primitive Studies for a while will be airing next Thursday night.

In approximately ten days, feedtime will be hitting the states for a U.S. Tour. Things will be kicking off in San Francisco at the Hemlock on Sunday, March 18th. This tour is in support of Sub Pop’s upcoming release – feedtime’s The Aberrant Years, a boxset collection of feedtime’s material original material released by Aberrant Records back in the ‘80s. It also supports S-S Records Today is Friday Lp release which as I understand includes live and/or outtake demo material never before released. Can’t wait to get my hands on both of these albums!

Saturday, March 24, 2012 @ Grumpy's , Minneapolis MN

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 @ Empty Bottle, Chicago IL

If you are looking for fun tonight (as in Friday, March 9th) The Feeling of Love and Delacave will be making their second appearance in the Sacto/Davis region tonight at the Davis Bike Collective. They will be joined by Electric Jellyfish from Australia and Ennui Trust from Davis. More information on this show can be found here.

For Sactites that don’t wish to make the journey across the causeway – I would suggest checking out Lenz, Malt Duck’s own G.Green, Les Fine Steps, and Monster Treasure at the Fox and Goose! More information on this show can be found here.

Got an ugly pumping muscle - FPS; 02/23/2012

Favs of the Week ////

Got two this week (cause I just couldn't decide between them both):

Primitive Calculators and Unity Floors

This (I guess you would call it) split 7-inch of Australia's own Primitive Calculators features the orginal version of their track Pumping Ugly Muscle which was recorded back in 1979, along side a live version recorded in 2009. Plus the band Slug Guts also does a cover of the same track which is included on the record as well. Most excellent synth weirdness here...

Unity Floors is a band also from Australia - Sydney to be exact. Beyond that, I don't know much else about this band.

It's good to be back - FPS; 02/02/2012

For me this show is the show of false endings .... or better said, the show where Fuzzbox Flynn got tricked by false endings!

There were two songs I played during this show (The Pizza's Rock N Roll Radio and Tyvek's This One or That One) that seemingly end at a certain point, but then start back up again. I had caught and made mental note of both during prep time, but alias ... in the heat of the moment those false endings got the best of me! Oh well ... better luck next time.

Fav of the Week ////

Love that Pizza's single - yay for Rock n' Roll Radio!!! Also, Bloodhouse's Cool Intentions is pretty stellar.

As for oldies .... the Young God's cover of Gary Glitter's Did you Miss Me is rather amazing. It's tracks like this that keep me from giving up completely on mid-80s Industrial/synth music.
